I
teach
Spanish language and literature courses in the Department
of Modern Languages of Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff (NAU).
I was born in North Carolina, where I lived for nine years. I grew up in New Jersey, Kwajalein and Illinois. I have traveled, studied and lived in several Latin American countries. Before pursuing a teaching career, I spent eight years in California, where I completed graduate studies in Spanish at San Diego State University and the University of California, Irvine. I have taught at NAU, Flagstaff, since 1991.
My
academic
interests include Mexican and
Central American literature, Literary translation, Latin American film
and the works of Gabriel García Márquez.
