One Struggle

Purpose: Focus and brain dump. Basically, in this course we've covered a few instances of how struggle is communicated.

The land; the food we eat; farmers; the music we listen to; world leaders (Carter, Havel); artifacts that symoblize concepts and struggles... and we'll be focusing on one group of indigenous people (Mankiller), as well as the struggles of Central America.

At this point in the class I want you to sit back and revisit your early interviews (definitions of "struggle"). Reflect on our readings, our discussions, and the handouts.

With your chosen topic (for the final paper/project) in mind, what do you say are characteristics of a struggle? Use 2 to 4 new sources for this paper. (1 may be a www).

This paper ought to be mostly your thinking up to this point. Your paper/project proposal is due next week. This paper will be your "kickstart" for the your researched in-depth paper.
