Welcome. English 570: Multimedia Design is a course meant to introduce principles of design, design theories, and visual representation. While you won't be given tons of instruction on available software and hardware, you will be given access and much instruction. This is not a course to learn how to use software, programs, but how to recognize the influence of design.

We'll use historical texts, current articles, and you'll practice applying these theories to others' work as well as your own. You'll also review research strategies, usability testing, and data collection.

You will also create stuff that is useful. This course will have several project deadlines, and you'll choose your client for your final project. More on this as the course proceeds.

There will be several articles online, and 2 books required. There is a third book I highly recommend. If you're interested in web development, I suggest you purchase the recommended book (Williams).
