Book Reviews

Paul Beier's review of "Details of a Desert Carnivore" by K. A. Logan and L. L. Sweanor which appeared in The Journal of the Society for Conservation Biology, Volume 16, Issue 5 Page 1441 - October 2002. Paul Beier is the Conservation Chair for the Colorado Plateau Chapter of the Society for Conservation Biology and an Associate Professor at Northern Arizona University's School of Forestry.

Amy Irvine's review of "Singing Stone: A Natural History of the Escalante Canyons" by Thomas Fleischner. Amy Irvine works for the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and has just completed a book of conservation success stories, Making a Difference (The Globe/Pequot Press). This review first appeared in the Summer 2001 issue of Wild Earth (802-434-4077; www.wildlandsproject.org) and is used with permission of the author.

Allison Jones' review of Creatures of Habitat: the Changing Nature of Wildlife and Wild Places in Utah and the Intermountain West. Allison Jones is a Conservation Biologist with theWild Utah Project, a group that collaborates closely with The Wildlands Project in Utah, and is the Vice President of the Colorado Plateau Chapter.
