Darrell Kaufman directs the AAGL. He has studied amino acid racemization beginning with his dissertation research at the University of Colorado. With over15 years of experience in amino acid geochronology, he has published more than 23 articles that include data on amino acid racemization. He focuses on using amino acid racemization to determine the ages and paleotemperatures of Quaternary marine and lacustrine deposits in the western United States, and he has contributed to studies lead by scientists from around the world.
Jordon Bright manages the AAGL. He has nearly 10 years of experience analyzing samples for amino acid racemization. He specializes in identifying lacustrine ostracodes and interpreting their depositional environments. His Master's thesis research in Quaternary Sciences at Northern Arizona University focused on using oxygen isotopes in ostracode shells and endogenic carbonates to reconstruct hydrological change at Bear Lake, Utah/Idaho.
