The Action Menu is only visible when you are inside a content module. Typically, when a student enters a content module, they will see a table of contents. The Action Menu allows you to easily navigate within that table of contents.

Previous: The Previous button will take you to the item in the table of contents that precedes the current item being viewed.

Next: The Next button will take you to the item in the table of contents that follows the current item being viewed.

Contents: The Contents button will return you to the table of contents list from any page within that table of contents.

Retrace: The Retrace button will take you to the last page you viewed in the Content Module.

Refresh: The Refresh button, like the one in a standard browser, reloads the page currently being viewed.

Caution! Using the buttons on your browser to go back, go forward, and refresh will produce unpredictable results when trying to use the action menu. For this reason, it is recommended that you not use your 'back', 'forward', or 'refresh' buttons in your browser while using WebCT.
