Communications Tools...Mail

WebCT email is internal to each course. You and other students can keep your messages for each class separate from those relating to your other WebCT courses. With WebCT email, you cannot send or receive email from outside the course. Only your instructor, T.A.'s, and classmates can use the Mail tool in a specific course.

You should not use your dana account email to communicate with WebCT classmates, or your instructor. Most instructors will only respond to emails sent with the WebCT email feature.

  1. To access WebCT email, click on the Communications Section.

The above image shows the default Icon for the Communications Section. However, your instructor may choose to use a different icon for this section.

  1. Once in the Communication Tools Section, Click on the mail icon.

  1. Now, you should be in the Mail Section of your course. From here, you can view and compose messages, as well as manage folders. Students may choose to create distinct mail folders for different topics, or groups, within the course.
