Research on Arizona using the Internet and formatting the information into a web on Inspiration.

Objective:
Student will gain a greater understanding of how to collect information about Arizona using the Internet. Inspiration will be used to organize the information that they found. 

Summary:
The students will research a topic about Arizona on the Internet and organize their information in a web using Kidspiration.  The web will be used to help the students write a essay about their topic.  The web will be graded and counted as their pre writing process.

IMPLEMENTATION
Learning Context:
This activity fits into the general context of what is being taught because it is part of the Arizona Unit that the fourth graders cover.

Procedure:

1. The students will be asked to reaerch for 15 minutes the Arizona Aminal of  there choice.

2. After several notes have been taken the students will be asked to insert the information into a web format using Inspiration and Kidspiration. Each student will have to have at least one topic, four sub ideas with three sub ideas to support.

3. The web that the students completed will then be used in constructing a essay on their animal

4. The essays will then be glued on a piece of construction paper and a hand drawn picture of the animal will be displayed. 

5. In conclusion the essays and drawings will be posted on the wall outside of the classroom.

 



Differentiated Instruction:
For students with special needs I will pair them up with a excelling student for assistance.
