1. The mid-term exam items will be selected from the following:

    a. Completion of diagrams of phrase forms, binary, rounded binary, 
       ternary, compound ternary, rondo and sonata rondo structures. Important
       cadences should be noted.
    b. definition of terms regarding motives, motive variation, phrase forms, 
       the components of texture and components of fugue.
    c. be able to distinguish between the various binary types and between ternary and
       closely similar binary forms.
    d. description of compound ternary, strophic, five-part song, rondo, sonata rondo       

2. Be able to complete the following;
 
    a.  motive/segment analysis of the Sarabande and Traumerei (see links 
        under "Descriptions of Binary and Ternary").   See also items 10 and 11
        under Motive, Phrase, Phrase forms. 

    b.  Event list of F major fugue of J.K. Fischer, B122 (use Fugue 2 list as a model)    
        
    c.  Event list and diagram of the following
