COURSE PREREQUISITES:  Upper division or graduate standing, permission
of instructor.

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  The course centers on a  series of web design
projects,  each a different model of web page design. Music and sound
techniques to be presented include: digital audio, MIDI, RealAudio,
interactive CD audio, and more.  Web design and graphic techniques to be
explored include: HTML coding, graphics, page layout, and later, more
advanced techniques of image maps, animated gifs, CGI forms and
Javascript.

OBJECTIVES:  

1.  Provide models for web pages designed for a variety of purposes and
    functions on the Internet
2.  Provide instruction on how to use many of the sound tools (digital
    audio, MIDI, RealAudio, interactive CD, and Quicktime) for web page
    construction
3.  Provide instruction on how to use many of the graphics tools needed for
    web page construction
4.  Provide coverage of HTML, Javascript, and other techniques as needed to
    enable the reader to construct the web page projects.

GENERAL POLICIES

GRADING:  Final grades are based on the percentage of the total points
accumulated on projects, and class activities. Letter grades are based
on 10 percent increments; that is, A = 90-100%, B = 80-89%, C = 70-79%,
D = 60 - 69%.

LAB FEE

This course requires frequent use of the Computer Media Center both
during and outside of class time. A lab fee of $25.00 is attached to the
tuition for this course. We recommend you have a MCEC account to cover
printing charges in CMC.
