There are three (3) parts to Assignment 1.  All three parts are due by the beginning of the second class.


Part 1

Stained Glass King Arthur
Based on your current knowledge of King Arthur and without further research, write a short response (approximately 100 words) to the question "Who was King Arthur?"  (e.g. Was King Arthur a real historical figure, a folk hero, or a mythical character of literature?)

King Arthur Image Click on Group Assignment to find your group.

Work with your group members using Google ScholarAnswers.com, and a third web-based research tool of your choice, to find information that addresses the question of "Who was King Arthur?" for the time period you have been assigned.  Remember to evaluate each source for quality and scholarship (determine whether it is a scholarly site or a popular culture site).

Using the information you find, write a 200 - 300 word group response that answers the question "Who was King Arthur?" for the time period assigned to your group. Post your group work under the appropriate group page in the Who Was King Arthur Google Group:   400 AD - 550 AD, 550 AD - 700 AD, 700 AD - 900 AD.

Use the information from the readings in Part 2 and the information you have located in Part 3 to revise your response to Part 1, "Who Was King Arthur?"
