Lakota Lynn Brown, Ph.D.

 

Hi! I am an assistant professor in the educational psychology department, College of Education.

I coordinate the school counseling masters programs in the Phoenix area and teach counseling courses such as multicultural counseling, group counseling, counseling processes, ethics, school counseling and guidance, vocational counseling, practicum and internship.

My research interests include developing outcomes measures for school counselors, computer-mediated communication, gifted education, and spirituality in psychotherapy.

Outside interests: I have served as advisor for: the Alternative Response Units of the Phoenix Fire Department, the Chaplain Training Programs at Samaritan Health Service, the Scholarship Board at the Thomas J. Pappas School for homeless children, and the CARS Consortium of rural elementary school counselors.
