As educators, I would argue that we must begin to see the possibilities for future development, and the use of new technologies to enhance learning environments. However, I also contend that the educational environment is the key to a successful learning experience. Therefore we must continue our inquiry to maintain a diligent understanding of the environment these new technologies create. I believe it is vital we understand how learners interact with new learning environments and delivery systems to facilitate a sound pedagogical approach. In that light, my research agenda has focused on learner interaction in online learning environments. As an example, I recently co-edited a special issue on Web 2.0 learning environments with Dr. Chih-Hsiung Tu in Educational Media, International, (2008, 45 - 4).
