PT 580 Integumentary Therapeutics
Integumentary Therapeutics is an introductory physical therapy course which examines how tissues in the human body react to to various forms of stress. This includes both the manner in which tissues become injured and inflammed as well as the role that stress plays in maintaining and restoring tissue integrity. Key concepts discussed in this course include the inflammation response, scar tissue formation, and the various applications of Wolff's Law. In addition, physical therapy modalities and the manner in which they may produce positive effects in healing tissue, and contemporary research concerning the efficacy of such approaches are discussed.
