About the Author

Colin Beavan

Colin and market with daughter photois an electronic engineer from the University of Liverpool and a visiting scholar at New York University. In his pursuit to improve quality of life and the health of the planet, he and his family launched the year long No Impact Project in 2006. In 2009, his book No Impact Man, and a documentary released with the same name, sparked interest among fellow advocates and criticism from skeptics. His blog NoImpactMan.com, is a space to discuss environmental issues, and was named one of the world's top 15 environmental websites by Time Magazine. Today Beavan continues to advocate for healthier lifestyles as an author and scholar. The No Impact Project, directed and inspired by Beavan, continues to empower educators and individuals to lower their environmental impact through their daily decisions.

The author, Colin Beavan and the book has received numerous awards and recognition including:

    • Named one of MSN's "Ten Most Influential Men"
    • Chosen as an "Eco-Illuminator" by Elle Magazine
    • Editor of Treehugger.com's selection for "Best Green Ambassador."
    • The New York City's Lower East Side Ecology Center has named him an "Eco-Star."
