Adobe Acrobat Reader: September 21 1999

JOURNAL READING 1: Before you explore the reading for this week, Native American Land-Use Practices and Ecological Impacts, please read the instructions below for installing Adobe Acrobat Reader.

The Adobe Acrobat Reader is required for this course.
Here are the instructions that we help you successfully download Adobe Acrobat Reader.

1. Use the following link to go to the Adobe Acrobat Reader page. Scroll down until you see the yellow icon on the left of the screen that says " Get Adobe Reader". Click the yellow button for the FREE download of Adobe Reader.

2. Scroll down the page and choose Free Acrobat Reader.

3. Fill out the form. Don't forget your e-mail address.

4. Download Acrobat Reader.

5. It will give you box to show where the Reader will be installed on your computer. Make a note of it to refer to later.

6. Be patient, the download can take awhile when the web is busy. You might want to start your download, then take a break from the computer while the program downloads.

7. You will get installation instructions. Print the installation instructions.

8. Go to where the Acrobat Reader was downloaded (look at your notes) and double click which will authomatically launch a set-up program. It will walk you through the set- up.

9. When you've finished installing, it will ask to restart the computer. You will need to restart the computer to activate the program.

10. Once it is installed, it will authomatically open Acrobat Reader files found in the course.
