Creating a Virtual Rain Forest - A CD ROM Presentation

A Public Lecture and demonstration by Dr. David Shapiro, Roy Park School of Communication, Ithaca College

Friday, October 15, 1999

12:30 to 1:45p.m. School of Communication - Room 330

Dr. Shapiro helped to create an instructional CD-ROM that teaches students from sixth grade to college ages the importance of reforestation practices in the Costa Rican Rain Forest.

Funded by the Boyce Thompson Institute for Plant Research and the Tropical Forestry Initiative, Dr. Shapiro and a team of scientists, designers, and artists developed an interactive video that is both entertaining as well as educational.

Sponsored by the Office of Teaching and Learning Effectiveness and the School of Communication at Northern Arizona University.
