About My List

On the topic of Travel Podcasts, Mark Peacock of the Travel Commons podcast proposed a 2x2 matrix of travel podcasts based on the degree to which they are (1) about Travel or about Destinations, and (2) Original Material or Repurposes Material [e.g., re-done radio programs]. I have expanded the defintion of Repurposed to include "Professional" podcasts, which are produced by professional travel writers/publishers and radio broadcasters. (Sometimes it is hard to tell the difference.)

Not every travel and tourism podcast is listed below, just those that I personally think are worth listening to. Also, I do not list podcasts that are focussed on single destinations, of which there are many, and podcasts that seem to have faded away. For a complete list travel podcasts, go to one of the travel section of one of the podcast directories listed below.
