Web Activity 

Week 1: 1/14 - 1/20

Reminder from the syllabus:   

 

For most topics students will either be directed to a website(s) or will be required to do their own online search to enhance their perspective on the topic.  The URL and a brief description of the site(s) will be emailed to the instructor by the deadline for full credit (10 - 20 points).

 

           Students should save each assignment in a word processing file on a disk, or in their hard 

            drive, before emailing it to the instructor. Systems are known to fail.  Your work is

            important to both of us so please save it.  Each assignment requires that a specific format

            be entered into the email subject field. You will be given instructions for that format with

            each assignment.  For most assignments it will be this standard format: abc2/web/wk1.  

 

            abc2    the letters and numbers to the left of the "@" in your email address (your initials)

            web        the name of the assignment you are submitting (lesson, reading or web)

            wk1        the week for which that assignment is due  

 

            If you have a question, please use this format in the subject field:

            abc2/question

 

To successfully complete this assignment for 10 points, you should:

  1. Go to both of these websites.  Your Online Learner's Guide experience will be quick and painless from the comfort of your computer.   The NAU, Institute for Human Development site is full of good information and helpful links.  Take some time and explore it.
  2. Email your feedback about the NAU/IHD website. Here are some questions you can choose to respond to.  Or, just let me know what you learned from the site.   Had you heard about IHD before?  What link(s) did you go to?  What programs do you find interesting?  
  3. Save your response before you cut and paste it into the email text box.
  4. Use this format for your email subject box:  .../web/wk1
