My primary research interest is in the area of normal and abnormal foot kinematics and kinetics during walking. The principal directions of investigation include: 1) two- and three-dimensional analysis of the lower extremity during walking; 2) the influence of foot and ankle motion during walking on the kinetics of proximal lower extremity joints and 3) the development of a clinically relevant assessment device for determining foot orthoses effectiveness. I am Co-Director of the Gait Research Laboratory which is housed in the Department of Physical Therapy at Northern Arizona University.
