TUITION

Tuition

The tuition and fees rates for each academic year are available on the NAU Office of the Bursar web site at http://home.nau.edu/bursar/. Select "Tuition and Fees," the Semester, and your appropriate Graduate category of either Arizona Resident or Non-Resident. Full-time students will choose an option that includes "Flagstaff Campus." Summers-Only students who are Arizona residents will choose " Resident, Distance Learning." Summers-Only students who are NOT Arizona residents will choose "World Wide University, Graduate." A cost comparison for other universities would show NAU tuition costs to be extremely reasonable for both residents and nonresidents. Tuition and fees are subject to change from one academic year to the next; please check for specific rates that correspond to your time frame, status and program course requirements.

Financial Aid

Need-based financial aid programs are administered by the Office of Student Financial Aid. If you are seeking financial aid you should contact the Financial Aid Office at (928) 523-4951. Note: The NAU Financial Aid department cannot prepare a financial offer for anyone until he or she has actually been accepted into an academic program. However, graduate students generally qualify for federally subsidized and unsubsidized loans up to the full amount of their calculated Cost of Attendance. While you are waiting to hear if you will be accepted into the CSD academic program, you may calculate an anticipated Cost of Attendance by going through the "Budgeting for College" link on the Financial Aid web site. After calculating your Cost of Attendance, you may select "Types of Aid" to review "Loans" and financial aid opportunities. Remember, the NAU Financial Aid department is not able to calculate a financial aid funding estimate until after official acceptance into an academic program.

Other Financial Support The CSD department offers a limited number of graduate assistantships to first-year, full-time students. These are typically offered to out-of-state students, based on their ranking in the entering class. If we offer, and you accept, admission into our program, you will be asked to indicate if you are interested in receiving a graduate assistantship. In addition, a limited number of tuition waivers are made available to second-year, full-time students in the CSD department.
