The USGS
Geopgraphic
Names Information System provides a great
query
form for finding the location of just about any feature you could imagine.
What I like most is that system will give you the name of the 7.5 minute
map(s) covering the location of the feature you are looking for.

Find the distance
between two latitudes and longitudes.
Fishing
- I like fly fishing and most other types of fishing. My
fishing page has pictures from some of my fishing trips.
Mountain biking - same comments as for Hiking
River
Running - mostly canoeing and kayaking, but I also do occasional
raft trips.
The USGS Water
Resources provides a great real
time stream flow data which is great for checking the flow on your
favorite river.
Snow Skiing - both alpine and cross country
