The Anthropology Laboratories are a research, educational, and service organization of the Department of Anthropology, College of Social and Behavioral Sciences, Northern Arizona University. Our mission is to foster a deeper understanding of the peoples, places, and cultures of the Colorado Plateau and to provide expertise and technical assistance in the field of cultural resource management. We offer a variety of services including cultural resource consulting, archaeological surveys and excavations, ethnographic studies, educational workshops and field trips, and cultural resource training. The Anthropology Laboratories conduct multiple field and lab projects each year, most of which are done on a contract basis. Our facilities are located on the campus of Northern
Arizona University in Flagstaff, Arizona. Adminstrative offices
are housed in the Department of Anthropology and laboratories are
located in the Bilby Research Center and the Anthropology Laboratories
building on the central campus. Personnel consist primarily of Anthropology
faculty, staff, The Northern Arizona Anthropology Laboratories are a leader in ruins preservation training and ruins mapping and documentation. Educational activities are focused on post-graduate training in cultural resource management. Our projects support Master's level research theses and internships and inform classroom teaching of the theory, methods, and techniques of ethical cultural research and resource management.
