Jabulani Elementary School Calendar/ScheduleSchedule: School begins at 8:30 and finishes at 3:15 , There is a half day for students on Fridays. Students are released at 1:00 . Staff development occurs from 1 - 3:15. Specials (Art, Music and Gym) occur one day a week. Note in the schedule four sections will be listed. Each team decides who will go on which days. The kindergartens attend half day. They leave at noon . One class has an afternoon Title 1 program in which those students who need extra support stay until 3:15 . There are 15 of those students. Those afternoon students eat lunch in their room at noon. Below are the lunch and recess times for each grade. Lunch is 15 minutes with five minutes for moving children outside. If a child needs more time than 15 minutes they are allowed to remain in the cafeteria to finish their lunch. Also teachers may have recess at other times as they see fit, but they must provide supervision.
Specials Schedule Specials occur Monday - Thursday. Note that each grade level team has been given a certain slot. This time period is designed so that the team can meet once a week. The other times are for prep.
