Shared Responsibilities
Teachers
All teachers will provide a newsletter that will be sent to parents
ay least twice a month. Teachers will share academic expectations with
course thematic themes, field trips and school information. Teachers
are focused on educating the whole child using the resources, experiences
and education they bring to the classroom. Every teacher is on two Jabulani
committees dedicated toward bring the community into the school.
School
Each child is given a folder with complete information about school
discipline polices, homework, attendance and tardy policies. In addition,
our intermediate students (grades 4-6) are given an assignment notebook
for students to record their daily assignments.
Parents
Parents are expected to get their kids in school on time, rested, well
fed and properly clothed. Parents must sign their child’s assignment
calendar every night. Parents are encouraged to volunteer and participate
in their child’s learning at Jabulani. Jabulani knows the parents
are a child’s number one teacher, and know how loved they are.
Academic Achievement Indicators
Arizona’s instrument to Measure Standards (AIMS) is designed
to measure student achievement of the Arizona Academic Standards. High
School students who do not attain “Meets the Standard” or
“Exceeds the Standard” in reading, writing and math will
have opportunities to pass the test in their junior and senior years.
Students in grades 3, 5, 8 will also take the AIMS.
