School Facilities
The school is located on 5 acres of land. This has allowed us to develop
an organic community garden, which some teachers have used as part of
their curriculum. We have a gymnasium, cafeteria, computer lab with 30
I-Macs, outdoor playground, an art room and a music room. Same grade level
classes are located near one another.
Curriculum
All teachers must use the Arizona Standards as a guide for curriculum
development. Teachers are free to choose what books, materials, and pedagogical
methods they would like to use to teach the standards. It is often easier
if grade level teams agree on similar materials. It is also more cost
efficient. We encourage teachers to collaborate with the "specials
faculty" and the special education team. We have worked hard to build
an inclusion model in which all teachers modify their curriculum to meet
the needs of special needs and ESOL students.
