Academic advising is an influential variable in the equation of student success and persistence. High-quality advising can facilitate individual student development which translates into institutional success as measured by retention and degree progression (NAU Advising & Career Planning Task Force, 2006).
It is important that the advising community find ways to highlight the achievements of advising programs, as well as outstanding advisors.
