almost one-half of these women are PRIMARY income earners
women earn 69% the average wage of men
By the year 2000 – women will make up 64% of the workforce
WHAT ARE THE IMPLICATIONS FOR THE HOSPITALITY INDUSTRY?
Illiteracy
20% of American adults cannot read, write, compute.
Many businesses are beginning in-house literacy programs.
Many jobs have had to be re-defined – making the job easier and reducing decision making demands.
Of all industries – Hospitality will employ most of the citizens who suffer from illiteracy
