Human Resource Management

Hospitality industry is people oriented - as a manager you will be dealing with customers, employees, vendors and suppliers, investors and owners or corporate managers and directors. A good relationship with all these constituencies is important. The possession of people skills - knowledge how to handle the diverse work force and constituencies is necessary. Guest want to receive good service and employees want respect and participation in their job. How do you balance it all?

Objectives:

1. To introduce the concept of strategic human resource management.

2. To familiarize you with the changes that are impacting the workforce.

3. To introduce the human resource laws.

4. To introduce and examine the concept of employee motivation and turnover

5. To explain the personnel functions of job analysis, job description, recruiting/selection, orientation/training, and performance appraisal.
