Hospitality Marketing

Marketing is one of the ingredients in a success of any business. In the hospitality industry we market products and services. This chapter is an introduction to basic marketing vocabulary and the importance of marketing to a business. Marketing influences your life every day - from the products you buy in the supermarket to the services you select to enjoy and use in your life and home.

Objectives:

1. To define what is marketing and the differences between products and services.

2. To introduce you to the elements of marketing - marketing mix.

3. To introduce you to the elements of market research, market strategy, market segmentation.

4. To introduce how pricing is determined and the factors that influence price of goods and services.
