This will conclude the Resort Management web class. By studying the history of resort growth and development in the United States, you should have a good understanding of the foundation of resort operations that have led to the rapid growth of resorts since 1980. You should also be able to distinguish the amenities, services and activities that separate resort operations from those of full service hotels. The theme of the class has been "Creating Memorable Experiences" and how the many different resorts operating in different destinations provide the kind of guest stays that in fact create memorable experiences.

The class also focused on the differences of resort marketing and finance from full service hotel operations. The complexity and range of operations, the high expectations of guests in regards to service and activities, and the importance of resort destinations in creating "Memorable Experiences" have been presented and discussed.

I welcome your comments and suggestions on what you liked and did not like about this web class. Changes and revisions will be made before the next resort web class to ensure that the class continuously improves and covers topics and aspects of resort operations that students would like to learn about. I hope you enjoyed the class.
