A 24-Hour Disability
Sometimes it can be really hard to understand what really happens to someone who has a disability.
What does it feel like? What would make their lives easier? What assistive devices are really necessary? You'll never know unless you get to "Walk a mile in their shoes."
This is your opportunity to really work through and understand what it is like to have a disability, to gain some insight and understanding.
For this assignment you will:
1. Select a disability that you will have for 24-hours. You must choose a disability that appears to be permanent. You can't choose something that looks like you have just hurt yourself. For instance nothing with a sling or crutches. You must give yourself the appearance of a true disability so you can experience how other's treat you.
2. Make it through 24 straight hours. You must go out into public. You can not hide out in your house.
3. Write a 1-2 page essay. Please Address:
