Assignment 3: Reflect on the Teacher as "Peace Maker"

This may be the first time you have considered being in a peace making position. As teacher you will often find the need to explore the feelings of various stake holders and meet the divergent needs of parents, students, administration, other educators and your own agenda, or belief system. What skills will you need to acquire if you hope to use consultation and collaboration to resolve school issues about serving students appropriately? Read the following pages in the Turnbull text, Chapter 3, pp. Chapter 3,pp. 78 - 119. List, define and describe at least six skills you feel you might need to help resolve the rock throwing situation. Consider mediation, counseling, etc.
