Prepare Folders and Write Summaries
To complete this assignment successfully, you should:
- Study the assignment carefully
- Read the corresponding material in the text or workbook.
- Send notation for each file completed. Remember, if you do not have
summary items completed in the one page overview, be sure you do include
them in your files.
- Click
here to access response files to let the professor know you are
reading the chapters.
Why are we doing this?
So you will have these files for your future use in special education
classes and in working with youth in the schools. Remember to make them
useful for YOU!
Get ten folders and label each with one of the ten service categories
from IDEA 1997. You may also wish to add a folder for gifted and another
for providing services for students who are considered "at-risk."
Develop and print out a description or vignette for each category to place
in the front of each folder. Send the description summaries to the instructor
via e-mail.
Tear out and complete helpful workbook pages, reflecting ideas from chapters
4 - 16 in the Smith workbook and fill them out. Place each summary in
the appropriate folders. Make notes and place additional ideas in the
appropriate folders you created as you go along. [If you do one that would
be a gift to others in the class and want to share, feel free to access
the secret file drawer in WebCT and deposit a copy there - that way Holmes
will not tumble to our discrete interconnectedness, but we will gain from
your insightfulness and make progress faster as a team.
CLUE:
SECRET FILES: In addition to the chapters, there are very special
secret files that will make your job easier and point to excellent
sources of information on the web. You can access these files from the
directory page: http://jan.ucc.nau.edu/~jde7/ese504/class/advanced
Also, you may want to purchase the text to facilitate getting the workbook
information. Feel free to talk with others, surf the web and share ideas
to make the work more enjoyable.
