Freshman Year Connections Newsletters
Over the next few months, we will be providing
you with some in-depth information about supporting
your student's academic and social success at Northern
Arizona University. We will send you reprints of articles
written for our first year students in our FYE 101
courses. Your reinforcement of the information in
these articles will allow you to become more knowledgeable
and empathetic with your students college experience
in the year 2004, and give you an "in" for conversation
with your son or daughter. We know you will look forward
to reviewing these articles each week. This week's
article is titled "Your NAU Family: Making Campus
Connections." To read the article, click here!

in a variety of 100 and 200 level

workshops, study groups, and supplemental
instruction. They also have programs
to help students with time management
and study skills as well as note-taking
and overcoming test anxiety. The North

Grad Fest
Grad Fest is Feb 20 & 21 from 10 a.m. - 3:00
p.m. at the NAU Bookstore. It is VERY
worthwhile for graduating seniors.
The Grad Fest really "de-mystifies"
the graduation registration process
by providing graduating seniors with
information on how to order their
gown and cap, etc.
Criminal Justice Internship Fair
A Criminal Justice Internship Fair will be held
in the du Bois Ballroom on Wednesday,
February 18th between 9 a.m. and 4
p.m. Students interested in
meeting and discussing internships
with professionals working in the
criminal justice system including
law enforcement agencies, corrections,
juvenile corrections, women’s shelters,
community youth agencies, law firms,
and many others should attend
this fair on February 18th. More
than 25 agencies will be invited to
attend. Questions about this event
should be directed to Cyndi Banks
at Cyndi.Banks@nau.edu
or 928-523-6522.
Regardless of how long your son or daughter has
been an NAU student, you could have
a touching or funny story about your student
or yourself and the university. Let
us know! In a future issue of the
Back Pack we will profile some of
these (If you don't want your name
included let us know!) to share with
everyone. You can email us at Parent.Association@nau.edu.
Also, make sure to check out our new
Parents' Association web site at www.nau.edu/parents. |
