Locket Meadow Hike
There is going to be a hike this Sunday, at 11 am, at Locket Meadow on the San Francisco Peaks. It isn't related to the Parent's Association, but should be a great time. The leaves are changing color, and there are few places that are as evident as Locket Meadow. If you have any questions, please contact Bob Beck at (623) 764-6776. We will be at the beginning of the dirt road, just off from 89A. The trail up to the meadow is a bouncy dirt road, and any car will make it, but it is recommended that you bring something with either 4 wheel drive or at least decent ground clearance. From Flagstaff take US 89 north to Sunset Crater Rd. Do not turn on Sunset Crater Rd. Turn left instead of right. Turning left will take you on the forest service roads. There will be a sign on your left telling you different destinations and an arrow. Go straight until you reach a 'T'. Turn right (north). This road will turn west. Turn north when you come to a road with a sign that points to Locket Meadow. Follow this road all the way down, 6 miles into Locket Meadow. Once in Locket Meadow turn right and keep driving until you see a parking place for hikers. It is by the outhouse. Parking is on the left, the trail is on the right. We look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

Kachina Trail Hike
Phi Alpha Theta is having a nature hike on the Kachina Trail beginning at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 18 beginning at the trailhead near the Snow Bowl. BYOP = Bring Your Own Picnic, and we will have two guest speakers. One will talk about the beautiful plantlife and another to tell us about the history of the San Francisco Peaks' trails systems.
If you are interested, contact Jane Ward at 928.523.9529.
