Geneva

Geneva was the last stop on my trip.  Geneva is located in the far most western part of the country along Lake Geneva.  Due to Geneva's close proximity to France it has more of French feeling than the other parts of the country.  At times I sort of felt like I was in Paris, except with a huge lake in the middle of the city.

One of the most notable things about Geneva is the large fountain located in Lake Geneva in the middle of the city.  The fountain originally began in 1891 as a safety valve for the city's water pumping system.  Since then it has turned into an attraction and become part of the image of the city. It has been enhanced throughout the years and made more powerful.  The water is pumped out of the fountain at a rate of 400 liters per second and reaches of height of 140 meters.
