PHYSICAL THERAPY
| The Program in Physical Therapy within the Department of Physical Therapy and Athletic Training offers two different curriculums leading to the doctor of physical therapy degree (DPT). It is a primary mission of the department to prepare physical therapists to assume leadership roles within the health care system through entry-level and post professional residential and distance learning experiences which integrate teaching, research, service, and clinical education through emerging information technologies. In this way, graduates are able to contribute to the solutions of current as well as future health care issues. | ![]() |
The Entry-Level DPT
is for those individuals who are not physical therapists, but wish to become one. This program
prepares students to take the National Physical Therapy Examination for licensure in any of the 50
states upon graduation. Students gain clinical practice competencies via teaching and mentoring
opportunities with the core faculty, clinical adjunct faculty, and clinical educators. |
