About the professor:

This is Dr. Hawley's tenth year at NAU. She teaches courses in both Geography and Public Planning. Her degrees in earth sciences and geography are from Baylor, Nebraska, and Arizona State. Her academic interests include urban and social geography and change, "public" lands, land conversion, planning policy at state and local levels and impacts, and public participation/planning processes. Dr. Hawley has published, presented, and has professionally consulted in her fields of interest. Other interests include art, archery, gardening, traveling, and camping, quilting, and collecting tacky (and not so tacky) globe items.
