Think of the information in the last two slides as a continuum, beginning with
problem recognition and ending with outcomes. Conscious or not, we go through
these stanges when we make most consumer purchases. Often times we are aware of
the process when we buy "high involvment" items like cars or clothing. About 90%
of our consumer pruchasing is in the "low involvement" category--those items
which are of low cost and little risk. Just about everything you buy in the
supermarket falls under the heading of "low involvement."
