Notes:
Warner developed his theory of social class membership back in the 1920"s. One of
the most important conclusions he reached was that income was not a very good
determinant of social class membership. What is more important than amount of
money earmed, is how the money was earned (e.g. through investment income or
through labor). How the money was earned is a better measurement of what brands
and categories differing social class groups will buy.
