Roy St. Laurent - Teaching Interests

Generally, my teaching responsibilities involve statistics courses (prefix STA) taught within the Department of Mathematics & Statistics.   On occasion I may teach a course with an MAT prefix.

Fall 2009 I will be teaching:

STA 275 Statistical Analysis a calculus-based introductory applied statistics course.   The content of this course is similar to STA 270 Applied Statistics.   The prerequisite is a grade of C or better in MAT 137 Calculus II or its equivalent.   STA 275 may be used as an elective in all of the undergraduate programs in the Department of Mathematics & Statistics.   In addition, I would expect that it could substitute for STA 270 in programs in many other departments.   Note however that it is NOT approved for Liberal Studies credit in the Science / Applied Science block.

STA 673 Mathematical Statistics I is a master's level course that rigorously develops the mathematical theory of statistical inference.

I will also be responsible for coordinating the Department's Statistical Consulting Lab as part of my teaching duties.

Courses I have taught at NAU:
  • STA 270 Applied Statistics
  • STA 275 Statistical Analysis
  • STA 471 Regression Analysis
  • STA 473c Introduction to Mathematical Statistics I
  • STA 474c Introduction to Mathematical Statistics II
  • STA 570 Statistical Methods I
  • STA 571 Statistical Methods II
  • STA 579 Biostatistical Methods
  • STA 585 Statistical Consulting Practicum
  • STA 675 Theory of Linear Models
  • STA 676 Experimental Design

  • MAT 123 Freshman Mathematics Seminar
  • MAT 316 Introduction to Linear Algebra
