The Elementary Spanish Program is designed so that even the non-Spanish-speaking parent/teacher can use the lessons easily and effectively. With our DVDs, parents/teachers can pause and play the lessons at will, as well as jump to any desired section as needed.
Our programs are created with a two-year alternating curriculum where two grades are combined and both grades are studying the same content in any given school year. One year is Units 1-5 and the alternating year is Units 6-10. The curriculum is designed to facilitate student entrance at the beginning of either year of the curriculum. The first unit of instruction in each year assumes that we have both continuing students and entering students, so we work on reviewing as well as introducing a common base of knowledge for that year’s instructional themes. The rest of the year’s instruction builds on that initial unit. The entire curriculum is spiraled for both foreign language elements and thematic content throughout the six years of programs.
This approach originated with our beginning as a distance education course, during which we had both continuing and entering schools at every grade level every year. We also had to solve the problem of how to help students who are new at our continuing schools get up to speed on our lessons. Creating greater flexibility, incorporating current accepted foreign language pedagogical practices, and building on our experiences in distance learning allowed us to develop what has become a very successful curricular foundation.

We have developed two interactive CD-ROMs that operate on both Macintosh and PC platforms. Each disc contains reinforcement games using the themes covered in each unit of each grade level. Elementary Spanish Songbook for Grades 1-6 Units 1-10 with Music
Homeschoolers and schools asked us to provide them with all of the songs that we introduce in all of our lessons. We have created just that! We offer a Songbook for Grades 1-6 for all ten units of instruction that contain all of the words in Spanish as well as their translations in English. With the songbook we provide sheet music for piano and guitar all written in the key of C. With each songbook you have a choice of audiocassette tape or compact disc that contain all of the same songs with guitar music.
