Analyzing Websites

For this assignment, search for at least 5 websites that discuss literacy issues. Think of it as a preliminary search for your own research paper that you will be writing for this course. So, before you start searching, sit down and make a list of all the literacy issues that interest you. Once you have that list, log on to one of the search engines and search for the topics that interest you. To find out more about how to do web searches, check out the Cline Library Internet Tutorial.

Once you found some sources that look promising, make sure that you analyze the material critically. To find out more about how to look critically at a web page, check out this link:
Thinking Critically about World Wide Web Resources

Your 2-page paper should be a critical summary of the webpages that you explored. Follow the guidelines outlined in "Thinking Critically about World Wide Web Resources." Make sure that you provide a general sense of what the web site is about and how reliable the information is.
