Facilities & Instruments |
|
Artistic productions of the NAU School of Music are
presented in the facilities contained in the Performing
& Fine Arts (building 37) and Ardrey Auditorium
(building 37A) buildings, as well as Ashurst Auditorium
(building 11). Ardrey Auditorium, the university’s
largest performance facility, seats approximately 1,400
people. The Performing & Fine Arts building, located
centrally on the NAU campus, is home to the Clifford E.
White Theatre, the Richard E. Beasley Arts Gallery, the
Studio Theatre, the
School of Music office, the Department of Theatre
Office, the Fine Arts Computer Lab, and faculty offices
for music, theatre, and art. The Ardrey Auditorium wing
also houses music faculty offices, ensemble rehearsal rooms, and percussion
practice and storage rooms. |
|
The
newest addition to the facilities is the refurbished
300-seat Ashurst Auditorium. This smaller hall hosts
many solo and ensemble recitals throughout the year. On
north campus, the 950-seat Prochnow Auditorium provides
a performance venue for special events and festivals. |
|
Located adjacent to the Performing & Fine Arts building
is the Cline Library with resource holdings of more than
1.4 million, seventy media center carrels, and a
407-seat assembly hall. Directly across from the
Performing & Fine Arts building is the University Union
(central campus), with numerous dining facilities,
meeting rooms, the central ticketing office, student
government, and Dean of Students/Student Life, among
other offices and services. The J. Walkup Skydome,
among the largest wooden-dome structures in the
world and
located at the southern end of the campus, is the
climate-controlled rehearsal and performance facility
for the NAU Marching Band. |
