Special Meeting of the Board of Directors
October 10. 2003

Meeting Called to Order at 6:40 PM by President Tom Paradis

Appointment of John Lovely to serve as Director/Secretary for the remainder of the current term. Passed

Approved Project proposals for 2004
Funded:
1.    Phase II of the DCC electrical system
    a.    Add Power stations and power supply
    b.    Add Loconet plug ins
    c.    Add Power managers to isolate zones
    d.    Hon3 will be added as another zone
2.    Mainline turnouts
    a.    Replace turnout #'s 5, 7, 10, 12, 13, 30, 37, 41, 45 with Shinohara #8
    b.    Replace turnout #'s 33, 35, 21, 22 with #6
3.    Allocate $300 to the N-scale committee for use at their discretion
4.    Replace crossing from S to Storage yard with a #6 turnout – restoring historic configuration. Complete the wiring and other turnout work in Ogden/Phoenix yard
5.    Remove crossings at 16M and 16A. Install #6 turnout from 16A to East Flag.
6.    Rebuild Red Mountain
    a.    Remove present mountain
    b.    Finish N  and Hon3 track work
    c.    Rebuild mountain to resemble the fascia scenery

Not funded:
1. Complete Engine house
2.    Complete Colton Loop wiring
3.    Install Hon3 balloon track under N-scale town. Hon3 committee to work with N-Scale committee on the control panel issue.

Projects needing further study
1.    Turnouts 19 B, C, D, E
2.    Turnouts 13M, A, B
3.    Design of the a new Dispatcher's panel

Discussion of becoming 100% NMRA Club
    Group insurance is available, maybe at a lower cost than present policy
    Dues will need to be increased to cover the $45 NMRA dues
    Consensus was to take the issue to the club membership.

Discussion of Ad Train
    Recommend the length be set at 25 cars
    Raffle donors could be a separate train
    Raise add rates to $50 per year for new advertiser.
Phase in the rate increase for current advertisers.

Insurance Policy is due for renewal soon.
    Jerry Snow will have a talk with agent about the coverage
    Compare rates with premiums for NMRA sponsored insurance

Club Decals
    John Lovely plans to co-ordinate a decal project
    Members may order lines and logos as they need.
