Dr. Ardisana is the Yuma local coordinator for the Master's with Certification Program. The program allows people with a
bachelor’s degree to obtain teacher certification in as little as four semesters. Prospective students may apply and
begin each semester. The program has been successful in meeting Yuma’s high need for quality educators at the
elementary and middle school level.
She received her doctorate in Curriculum & Instruction. She has been active in the Yuma educational community
for twenty-three years. As an ESL endorsed educator, Vicki most enjoys helping students improve their academic
language through mathematics and science strategies and hands-on learning. The combination of mathematics,
science, and language was the focus of Vicki’s doctoral dissertation.
Dr. Ardisana has been working with mathematics and science partnerships with AWC and local school districts. In addition
to the line up of courses for the Master's Program, Vicki provides mathematics workshops for area teachers on using
hands-on manipulatives and mathematics process skills. She also assists people with certification information and
preparation for the Arizona Educators Proficiency Exam (AEPA).
