Early Medieval Period

Three southern kingdoms of Pallavas (Mamallapuram), Cholas (Tanjore), Hoysalas (Mysore) and Vijayanagar (Andhra) empire ruled in the south during the Early Medieval period. The Northern kingdoms of Gangas and Chandellas were responsible for the Orissan temples and the Khajuraho temples respectively.
