DENTAL HYGIENE APPLICATIONS & ADMISSIONS
Because the Dental Hygiene program at NAU adheres to a 1+3 curriculum, where one year of prequisite course work is combined with three years of dental hygiene coursework at NAU, must have complete (or be in the process of completing) 32 hours of coursework including completion of 7 credit hours of science prequisites prior to applying to the program. Once you are able to show that the prerequisites in the Prerequisite/Program of Study are in progress or completed, you may apply to the program. If the prequisites are completed at another institution, you will need to contact an advisor in the dental hygiene department for general advising. The Dental Hygiene program at NAU is a rigorous and demanding program. In the class of 2012, 30 students were admitted out of an applicant pool of 80. Of the 30 students admitted to the program, the average cumulative GPA was 3.65.
NAU Dental Hygiene does not accept students with advanced standing who transfer from other Dental or Dental Hygiene programs.
Due to the competitive nature of the application process, it is necessary that students complete the application in detail and as accurately as possible. To facilitate this process please refer to the documents below as you complete your application.
