Experiencing War: Stories from the Veterans History Project

This project examines military intelligence through the eyes of 22
veterans. See interviews, letters, and photos of soldiers
dropped behind enemy lines to carry out incredibly dangerous
missions. Read stories of soldiers who served as
interrogators and interpreters, questioning captured prisoners

is a slideshow of more than 30 paintings and works donated to
the Gallery by John Wilmerding, an authority on American art.
It includes 19th and early 20th century landscapes and
seascapes by Heade and Lane, still lifes by Peto and Decker,
figure paintings by Homer and Eakins, and works by Church,
